Who writes EV Hub, what they know, and what each part of the byline block means.
Why we publish this
A page about import duties is only as useful as the person standing behind it. Readers should be able to see who wrote an analysis, what background they bring to it, and whether anyone checked the numbers before publication. That is the point of this page.
It is also a standard we hold ourselves to: we do not publish anonymous analysis, and we do not put a byline on a page no named person is accountable for.

EV & Battery Industry Analyst
Wei Wang has spent many years in automotive battery production, working on the manufacturing side of the industry before turning to commercial research on electric vehicles. Today his work focuses on import economics, tariffs, and cross-border compliance for Chinese EV exports.
He writes EV Hub's landed-cost analysis, vehicle and brand coverage, and the export market guides, and signs the pages he is accountable for.
Areas of expertise — the subjects Wei Wang is qualified to write about on this site:
- EV battery production — Manufacturing-side experience with automotive cells and packs — what changes in cost, capacity, and chemistry when a line is set up, and how that shapes vehicle pricing.
- Chinese EV supply chain — How Chinese OEMs source cells, packs, and components, and why two vehicles with similar specs can carry very different production economics.
- Export economics — FOB-to-landed pricing: duties, countervailing tariffs, VAT, freight, and the margin structure between factory gate and destination port.
- Cross-border compliance — Homologation routes (ECWVTA, small series), battery and transport standards, and the documentation an importer actually needs at the border.
We list these as areas of practical experience, not as certifications or formal qualifications. We do not claim credentials we cannot point to.
The byline system
Substantive pages on EV Hub carry a four-part attribution block. Each part answers a different question, and each has an accountable role behind it.

| Reviewed by | A second pass for accuracy, unsupported claims, and conflicts of interest before publication. Where a page is written and reviewed by the same person, we say so instead of inventing an editor. |
| Data verified by | The person who recomputed the numbers — duty rates, VAT, freight and certification assumptions — against their cited sources. |
| Last updated | The date the page was last checked and, where needed, corrected. Tariff and price figures move; this date tells you how much to trust a number today. |
Review and verification
EV Hub is a small publication, and we say so rather than implying a large newsroom. In practice:
- Wei Wang writes the analysis and is the named author on those pages.
- Where a page is written and reviewed by the same person, the attribution says so. We do not manufacture a second name to look more institutional than we are.
- Data verification is a separate pass from writing: numbers are recomputed against their cited sources before a page is dated.
- No commercial partner reviews, approves, or edits editorial content — the ownership and editorial relationship is set out in the Editorial Independence Policy .
What we will not do
- Publish a page with no named author.
- Attribute a page to a person who did not write it.
- Invent a reviewer, editor, or credential to add credibility.
- Present a company's product experience as a test result we did not run.
